Zedvance appoints Deji Olanrewaju as new Chairman

Zedvance Finance Limited has named Professor Pius ‘Deji Olanrewaju as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors, starting from 1 July, pending CBN approval.

This marks an important step for Zedvance Finance as it aims to improve its governance structure for future growth. With a better Board setup and stronger oversight, Zedvance plans to speed up its growth goals, boost innovation, and create lasting value for its stakeholders.

The Company noted that Professor Olanrewaju brings “extensive boardroom experience, exceptional leadership credentials, and deep expertise in governance, strategy, and organizational transformation” to his new role. This addition will further boost its leadership and governance.

On his new role, Prof Olanrewaju said:

Professor Olanrewaju is a well-respected legal scholar, banking expert, and corporate leader, with over 40 years of experience in banking, finance, academia, and governance. He holds an LLB (Hons) BL, BA, M.Sc, LL.M, and a PhD. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FCIB), the Institute of Capital Market Registrars (FIMA), the Institute of Management and Administrative Technology (FCMR), and the Enterprise Risk Management Professionals (FERP).

He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), where he was the immediate past President/Chairman of Council. He also served as Chairman of the Capacity Building and Certification Committee after more than 35 years of service to the Institute. His professional memberships also include APNM and AMNIM.

Olanrewaju is well-versed in Banking and Commercial Law and is currently a Professor of Banking Law at Babcock University. He was also the immediate past Provost/Dean of Law at the School of Law and Security Studies, Babcock University, where he made significant contributions to legal education and academic leadership. He has co-authored several books and articles in various journals and sits on several Boards, including the Babcock University MFB.

As Chairman of the Board of Zedvance, Professor Olanrewaju brings a wealth of knowledge in strategic leadership, corporate governance, and oversight in financial services.
