Hayden Panettiere, an actress famous for her roles in the TV shows "Heroes" and "Nashville," has died at the age of 36, as reported by various media outlets.
Her father confirmed her death in a statement to ABC News.
"It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her and to the millions who watched her onscreen," he said.
He requested that the family be given privacy as they deal with this huge loss.
There are no immediate details about how she died, but TMZ reported that there is an "open investigation" into the cause.
Hayden was born in 1989. She became a child star and later landed many roles in both movies and TV shows.
Her film credits include "Remember The Titans," "Ice Princess," "Scream 4," and "Scream VI."
In May, she released a memoir titled "This Is Me: A Reckoning."
In her book, she talked about the pressures of being a child star and her struggles with addiction and recovery.
She also mentioned being estranged from her mother, who managed her early career and later criticized her book.
