West Brom legend Andy Johnson wants Super Eagles striker Josh Maja to remain at The Hawthorns after this summer. He called Maja the most complete forward at the club right now.
Johnson, who had a great playing career at West Brom, made this statement as Maja's future remains uncertain.
Maja's three-year contract, which he signed after moving from Bordeaux in the summer of 2023, will end this month.
In an interview with the Express and Star through Football League World, Johnson praised the Nigerian striker's skills.
"Would I like Josh to stay? Of course I would. He links up the play better than anyone at the football club, between the midfield and the strikers. His touch nine times out of ten is sensational; he can flip balls in behind.
"He really does spot it. If he gets a partnership with a winger who stands the ball up for him, he can attack it, and heβll get goals," Johnson said.
Last season, Maja scored three goals in his final nine matches for the Baggies. This brought his total contributions at the club to 22 goals in 81 games across all competitions.
