Messi Scores Four Goals, Reaches 927 Career Goals

Lionel Messi hit 927 career goals on Saturday. He scored four goals to help Inter Miami win 7-1 against CF Montreal in Major League Soccer.

The 39-year-old forward from Argentina scored two goals in the first half and two more in the second half. This win ended Inter Miami's five-match winless streak.

Messi's first goal came in the 40th minute. His free-kick found the net to give Miami a 2-1 lead. This was after Montreal equalized with a goal from Fabian Herbers in the 20th minute, which canceled out Casemiro’s opener.

Seven minutes into the second half, Messi scored again. He skillfully moved past several Montreal defenders before shooting into the bottom corner.

He then set up his former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez for Miami’s fourth goal. Messi completed his hat-trick in the 83rd minute with a lovely chip over goalkeeper Thomas Gillier.

Teenage substitute Alex Shaw scored Miami’s sixth goal in the 89th minute. Messi finished his four-goal performance with another free-kick deep in stoppage time.

This victory ended Inter Miami's five-game winless run in all competitions. The win pushed the club to second place in the Eastern Conference.

Messi has played for Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Miami, and the Argentina national team. He also reached 18 goals in MLS this season, making him the top scorer in the league.
