APC leader supports 50 Ogun women, backs Yayi for 2027 election

A leader of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Titi Fagbote, also known as Ayoka, has supported 50 women in Yewa North Local Government Area. She gave them cash to help their businesses and to gather support for the party’s candidate for the 2027 governorship, Senator Solomon Adeola, known as Yayi.

The women included hairdressers, fashion designers, and elderly participants.

At the empowerment event held at Omidokun Hall in Ayetoro, Yewa North, Fagbote explained that the program also aimed to start the Ayoka Women for Yayi group. She wants them to work for Adeola’s success in the upcoming elections.

In a statement she released on Tuesday, Fagbote shared that her choice to empower these women came from two reasons. First, she wanted to show what she had learned as a supporter of Adeola. Second, she believed that the job of empowering citizens should not only be Adeola’s responsibility.

Fagbote praised Adeola as a politician who has made a real difference in Yewa North. She said his efforts have earned him respect from the residents.

“Even before becoming Governor, it is clear that Yayi has done a lot, brought development, and touched many lives in Yewa North Local Government Area. Our people see it, they feel it, and they know that Yayi is special,” she said.

Fagbote encouraged members of Ayoka Women for Yayi to ramp up community support as the 2027 election approaches. She wants them to share Adeola’s accomplishments as a senator and his plans for Ogun State.

She also highlighted the need to empower women. She described them as hardworking and key members of their families, saying that when women progress, it benefits their households.

“What I know is that Yewa women are hardworking, industrious, and supportive of their husbands. So when we empower our women, we are building our future, as it positively affects the children and men too,” she said.

Temitope Adeola, wife of Senator Adeola, was represented by Olori Adebisi Olaotan. She is the Convener of the West-to-State APC Women’s Wing and President of the Dynamic Diamond Sisters. Olaotan criticized ongoing attacks on the senator’s origin. She called these attacks desperate moves by political opponents to damage his reputation.

She confirmed that Adeola is from Ilaro in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State. She dismissed claims that he is from Ekiti State.

“Over time, we have had situations where they keep attacking Yayi’s character. They have called him many names. They’ve told us he’s from Ekiti. But nobody has shown us where he’s from in Ekiti,” she said.

Olaotan added that the opposition is worried due to Adeola’s history of community work and infrastructure development in Ogun West and the entire state.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Rafiu Fausat, thanked Fagbote for the support. She called the programme a helpful initiative that would boost their businesses. She said she intends to use the funds to grow her business and improve her livelihood.

She also urged Ogun State residents to unite and support Adeola in the 2027 elections. “My message to all the people of Ogun State is that we should work together and, during the coming election, support our senator, our incoming governor, Olamilekan Solomon Yayi, so that he can become the governor of Ogun State in 2027,” she said.
