The Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) has announced that candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC) are the winners of the chairmanship and councillorship elections in all 11 local government areas and 11 local council development areas in the state.
The results were shared on Saturday at GOSIEC's headquarters in Gombe. The Chairman of GOSIEC, Abdullahi Talatse, confirmed that the ruling party won every available seat.
"Having received, collated and verified the results submitted by our returning officers, and in accordance with the powers conferred on the Commission, I hereby declare the candidates of the All Progressives Congress duly elected as chairmen of the 11 local government councils of Gombe State," Mr Talatse said.
He praised the electoral process for being peaceful. He thanked voters, political parties, security agencies, election officials and other stakeholders for their cooperation during the elections.
"The peaceful conduct of the election shows the commitment of all stakeholders to the democratic process. We appreciate the maturity displayed by the electorate and the support provided by security agencies and election personnel," he added.
Mr Talatse also noted that the successful completion of the polls reflected GOSIEC's commitment to conducting elections that are transparent and credible, in line with the laws that set up the electoral body.
With this announcement, the APC has kept control of all 11 local government councils in Gombe State. This result reaffirms the party's strong position in local government administration after the 2026 council elections.
