Youth leaders from the All Progressives Congress in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory have shown their full support for the appointment of the Minister of Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande. He will be part of the Presidential Campaign Council for the upcoming 2027 presidential election.

On Saturday, the ruling party shared the full list of members for its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council. Olawande was named the Director of Youth Mobilisation for the council.

In a statement from the Chairman of the Forum of 37 APC State Youth Leaders, Zaka Nehemiah, the forum called Olawande’s appointment a smart move for getting young people involved ahead of the 2027 election.

The statement was shared with our reporter on Monday.

The forum congratulated Senator Abdul’Aziz Yari on being appointed as the Director-General of the campaign council. They also expressed their readiness to work alongside Olawande to ensure the presidential campaign reaches every corner of the country, especially at the grassroots level.

The statement said, “Olawande’s experience as a former Youth Leader in Ondo State has equipped him with a strong understanding of grassroots mobilisation, youth engagement and political coordination.

“His appointment shows how important young people are in politics and reflects a commitment to giving youth leaders a real role in the mobilisation and coordination of the 2027 campaign.”

The forum revealed it has over 19,533 youth leaders in 17,802 wards, 1,548 local government areas, and 109 senatorial districts across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. They pledged their full support and cooperation with the youth minister in his duties within the campaign council.

“Our members will use their grassroots networks to help with youth mobilisation and the broader goals of the Presidential Campaign Council,” the group stated.

They also expressed confidence that with Senator Yari leading and Olawande’s experience in youth mobilisation, they could run a well-planned, inclusive, and victory-focused campaign for the 2027 elections.
