Ardova Continues Support for Handball Premier League

Ardova Plc is happy with how the Nigeria Handball Premier League is doing. They have decided to keep supporting the sport by extending their sponsorship for another year, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Dr. Sowami, the chairman of Ardova Plc, said this decision shows their belief in Nigerian handball's potential. He also mentioned their commitment to creating chances for young athletes.

“We are pleased with the progress recorded by the Ardova Handball Premier League and look forward to supporting another competitive and impactful season,” Sowami said.

This renewal comes after the first three-year sponsorship agreement between Ardova and the Handball Federation of Nigeria ended. The competition will still be known as the Ardova Handball Premier League.

Dr. Babatunde-Ojo, the managing director of Ardova Plc, said their involvement goes beyond just business. He called it an investment in Nigerian sports' future.

“The Ardova Handball Premier League has continued to provide a platform for talented Nigerian athletes to compete, develop and showcase their abilities.

“Our objective is to see a league that is professionally organised, highly competitive, and capable of producing athletes who can excel nationally and internationally,” he said.

Jibril Saidu Ojih, the president of the Handball Federation of Nigeria, thanked Ardova for renewing their partnership. He called this decision a strong vote of confidence in Nigerian handball.

“The Handball Federation of Nigeria is delighted to partner with AP for another year. This is a strong vote of confidence in the direction of Nigerian handball and, most importantly, in the potential of our athletes and the domestic league,” Ojih said.

He added that this renewed partnership will help the federation improve the organisation, standard, visibility, and competitiveness of the league.

The Ardova Handball Premier League is a key platform for finding and developing talents. The competition includes top clubs in both the men's and women's categories.

The renewed partnership is expected to further strengthen the domestic league. It will also help players move up to national teams and international competitions.
