Nigerian singer Sarah Aderibigbe, known as Ayra Starr, has made a big splash by debuting at No. 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart with her new album, Starrgirl. This comes just two weeks after the album was released.
PUNCH Online confirmed this update on Wednesday, showing the Billboard World Albums chart for the week of August 29, 2026.
Ayra Starr’s Starrgirl is positioned behind three K-pop boy groups. Stray Kids’ This & That holds the top spot again. CORTIS’ GREEN GREEN and ATEEZ’s Golden Hour: Part.5 are in second and third place. South African singer Tyla’s APOP* is at No. 5.
Starrgirl dropped on August 14 under Mavin Records and Republic Records. This is Ayra Starr’s third studio album. Her earlier albums include 19 & Dangerous from 2021 and The Year I Turned 21 from 2024.
The 16-track album features many artists from Nigeria and beyond. Notable names include Wizkid, Rema, Zayn, Leon Thomas, kwn, Danny Ocean, and Theodora.
Since its release, the album has done well on other charts and streaming services. It reached No. 8 on the UK R&B Albums chart and No. 27 on the UK Album Downloads chart. In France, it hit No. 100 on the SNEP Albums chart.
In Nigeria, Starrgirl topped the Spotify album chart. It also reached No. 1 on Apple Music in several countries.
The Billboard World Albums chart ranks the best-selling world music albums in the United States based on sales.
