Afrobeats star Sarah Aderibigbe, known as Ayra Starr, has shared that she just had major surgery.
The singer posted this news on her Instagram Story on Thursday. She apologized to her fans for not being online as much and explained that her recovery is taking longer than she thought.
“Hey Mobstarrs, I’m sorry you’re not seeing as much of me as I would like. I had major surgery a few days ago. I was hoping it would be a quick recovery, but it was more complicated than they expected.
“I just need a bit of rest, and I’ll be back!!! Starrgirl is coming so soooon. I need everyone out there spreading the word, tell your friends, your family, your neighbours!!! Order Starrgirl ASAP!!!
“Love you guys,” she wrote.
In another post on Instagram, Ayra encouraged her fans to pre-order her new project. She also shared that she has signed copies of her first vinyl and CD inserts.
“Hey Mobstarrs. I’m signing my first vinyl and CD inserts. Go to shop.ayrastarr.com. Go get your vinyl and your signed CDs,” she said.
This update comes just days after fans saw the trailer for Ayra Starr’s acting debut in the Hollywood fantasy film Children of Blood and Bone. She stars alongside big names like Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, Richard Mofe-Damijo, and Damson Idris.
