Barcelona has signed 18-year-old winger Jesse Bisiwu from Club Brugge for about 8.5 million euros, which is around $10 million.
“FC Barcelona and Club Brugge have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jesse Bisiwu, who signs up to be a blaugrana until 30 June 2031,” Barcelona said in a statement.
Bisiwu is one of the brightest young talents in Belgium. He follows Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi in joining the Spanish club this summer.
Barcelona described him as a winger with “a great future ahead” due to his speed, strength, and dribbling skills.
Jesse Bisiwu was born on January 22, 2008, and has been a regular for Belgium’s youth national teams. He became well-known during the 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, where he was named in the tournament’s Best XI after helping Belgium reach the semi-finals.
He started his youth career at OH Leuven before moving to Club Brugge’s academy in 2020. In the last two seasons, he played 14 times in the UEFA Youth League, scoring three goals.
Bisiwu also gained experience with Club NXT, which is Club Brugge’s reserve team. He made his debut in the Belgian Second Division in 2023 when he was just 15 years old. He went on to make 36 appearances for the team before his move to Barcelona.
Though he did not play for Club Brugge’s first team, the young player is expected to start his Barcelona journey with the club’s reserve side as he continues to grow.
With this transfer, Bisiwu joins other Belgian players who have played for Barcelona, including Thomas Vermaelen and Fernand Goyvaerts.
