Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has been taken to the hospital after he collapsed during a training session for the club's reserve team on Friday.
The German club shared this news in a statement on its official X account. They said Kompany had been watching the second team train when he suddenly needed medical help.
The club confirmed that the coach would have a thorough check-up at the hospital and would stay under medical care.
For now, his coaching staff will handle training sessions and match preparations.
Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, said the main focus is Kompany's health and recovery.
“The health of Vincent Kompany is our utmost priority. At FC Bayern, we will do everything to ensure he recovers quickly,” Eberl stated.
He mentioned that Kompany was getting the medical support he needed, while his coaching team would take over his duties.
“All of us at FC Bayern wish Vinnie a speedy recovery,” he added.
