Businessman Gives Barber N5m After Surprise Meeting

Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Daniel Omoyibo, also known as Danmotech, has given a barber N5 million to start his own business after an unexpected meeting at a barbing salon.

A video shared by Nigerian Stories on Monday showed that Danmotech had left another barber after they could not agree on the price for a haircut. He then went to another barber who invited him to sit down and cut his hair.

During their chat, Danmotech found out that the barber, Suleyman from Kogi State, worked for the salon owner. When Danmotech asked how much he needed to start his own barbing shop, Suleyman said he would need between N2 million and N3 million.

Touched by his answer, Danmotech said he would help him with N5 million. “I’m going to give you five million for you to go and establish your own,” he declared.

He continued, “You said two to three million you can establish, right? God has made this five million there for you. You can rent your house, you can do your business. So thank you and God bless you.”

Danmotech also advised Suleyman not to have issues with his boss over the money. He said, “Tell your guy not to take offence. Still serve your guy this month. Tell him next month, this man don empower me, so I will establish my own.”

Then, he asked for Suleyman’s account details. “Give me your account number now, I will transfer the five million to your account and immediately you start the process, buy your equipment and look for a place,” he said.

When Suleyman was asked if he knew Danmotech before this meeting, he said, “I never know him before. This is my first time of seeing him.”

The video showed the transfer was completed, and people around cheered as Suleyman expressed his thanks for the surprise gift.

After getting the alert, another man present said, “It took the grace of God for someone to do such a thing like this. When we have people like this in this country, I think this country will move forward.”

The video has gained a lot of attention on X, which used to be Twitter. Many users have praised Danmotech for helping the young barber become a business owner.

One user on X, called Cold_wota, wrote, “People will still not learn…. Relate with people with love and fear of God always. God can use anybody to change your life. Learn to respect your fellow human, God is always watching.”

Another user, Call_Me_Bastian, said, “And that’s how to empower someone. Don’t just give people fish, teach and show them how to fish.”
