Christian Eriksen collapsed again during a football match on Sunday. This happened while Denmark was playing a friendly against Ukraine in Odense.
The Danish football association shared an update on social media. They said, “Christian Eriksen is conscious and doing well under the circumstances.”
This incident occurred five years after Eriksen, 34, experienced a cardiac arrest during a European Championship match against Finland.
Morten Boesen, the national team doctor, spoke about the situation. He said Eriksen walked off the pitch by himself and that his pacemaker worked as it should.
“Christian is doing well and walked off the pitch by himself. As I see it, the pacemaker responded as it should,” he said.
Boesen added that Eriksen was briefly unconscious but woke up quickly. They were in contact with him soon after the incident.
“He will now undergo further examinations at the hospital to determine what caused the incident. We are in ongoing contact with him and the doctors at the hospital.”
Boesen also mentioned that Eriksen asked him to send his regards to all the players. He reassured them that he was okay, saying, “But Christian is doing well, and he asked me to send his regards to all the players and tell them that he was okay.”
