AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze kicked off the new Serie A season on a high note, helping his team win 2-1 against Torino on Sunday night.
The Super Eagles star played in a new wing-back position under manager Ruben Amorim and did very well to meet the tactical needs. He earned the official Man of the Match award from Serie A for his performance.
Chukwueze also played a key role in attack, setting up Adrien Rabiot’s second goal as Milan grabbed all three points at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in Turin.
His strong showing is a good sign of how valuable Chukwueze could be under Amorim, especially in a system that asks him to blend his attacking skills with more defensive work.
After the match, Chukwueze spoke to DAZN, sharing his happiness about Milan’s winning start, but he quickly shifted focus to the upcoming challenges.
“Now we have to look forward, but I’m very satisfied,” Chukwueze said.
The 26-year-old made it clear he is ready to take on the demands of his new role and give his all for the team throughout the season.
When asked about the workload, Chukwueze assured that he would keep putting in the effort whenever Amorim calls on him.
“I’m ready, I can’t wait, and I’ll do it all season,” he added.
Chukwueze’s performance strengthens his case for a key spot in Amorim’s plans. He returned to Milan this season after a successful loan spell at Fulham last year.
With his speed, attacking skills, and growing desire to help out defensively, the winger could be a big asset for Milan as they aim for the Serie A title.
For Chukwueze, the message from the first weekend is clear: he is prepared to run, fight, and help wherever his new manager needs him.
