AC Milan is getting ready to talk about a new contract with Samuel Chukwueze. The Nigerian player has impressed with his strong start to the season, which has made the Serie A club think about extending his stay past 2028, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

The 27-year-old played last season on loan at Fulham. He has started all three of Milan's league matches this season and has provided two assists. Manager Ruben Amorim has given him a new role as a right-sided wing-back. He assisted Adrien Rabiot’s goal against Torino and set up Alphadjo Cisse last weekend at Juventus. He has also helped in defense in this new position.

Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira says the Rossoneri are ready to talk to the winger’s agents about a new deal. This deal could keep him at the club until 2031. His current contract runs until June 2028, but formal talks on an extension have not started yet.

Chukwueze has found it hard to secure a regular spot since he joined Milan from Villarreal in July 2023. His inconsistent form and limited playing time led to rumors about a possible exit.

But his early performances under Amorim have changed the situation. Amorim has praised the Nigerian player since his first press conference in charge.

For now, Chukwueze is focused on playing well. He aims to build on what many are calling his best start to a season since he arrived in Italy.
