Comoros will meet Nigeria's Super Falcons after beating Sudan 30, 0 on aggregate in the first round of the 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers.
The Coelacanths won the first leg 17, 0 on June 3. They followed that up with a 13, 0 victory just five days later, showing their dominance.
In the first match, Comoros scored after just eight minutes. They then kept attacking, leaving Sudan struggling throughout the game.
Nine players found the net, showing how strong and skilled the Comorian team is.
In the second leg on Monday, Comoros scored three goals in the first half. They added 10 more in the second half to finish with a 13, 0 win.
With a total score of 30, 0, Comoros will now face Nigeria’s Super Falcons, the most successful women’s football team in Africa, in the next round.
The Super Falcons are seen as the favorites going into this match.
Justine Madugu’s team recently beat Senegal 3, 0 in a friendly match at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, on Monday night. This followed a 2, 1 win in their first friendly last week.
The second round of qualifiers is set for October 5 to 13, 2026.
Only two African teams will qualify for the women’s football event at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA.
