The UEFA Champions League shared a season-by-season list on its social media, showing the players who have topped the scoring charts since the 2000/01 season.

Champions League top scorers are legends of the game. Mbappé’s 15 goals put him among some of the biggest names in Champions League history and earned him the top scorer title for the second time.

UEFA reported that he scored 15 goals in 11 matches, with 13 of those during the league phase. This set a new record for that part of the tournament.

Mbappé's achievement continues a period dominated by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. They took the top-scorer title in 12 of the 13 seasons from 2007/08 to 2019/20, with Robert Lewandowski breaking that streak in 2019/20.

As UEFA posted on its social channels on Tuesday, here is the complete list of Champions League top scorers from 2000/01 to 2025/26:

Ronaldo and Messi’s Scoring Era

This list shows how Ronaldo and Messi dominated the game from the late 2000s to the 2010s.

Ronaldo was top scorer seven times between 2007/08 and 2017/18, while Messi won the title six times during his time at Barcelona.

They also shared the top scorer title in the 2014/15 season with Neymar.

Ronaldo’s 17 goals in 2013/14 are among the best scoring achievements on this list. His 16 goals in 2015/16 are the second-highest total in this period.

Mbappé is starting to make his mark in this conversation. The French forward has been the Champions League top scorer twice, first in 2023/24 and then again in 2025/26.

His latest season was particularly impressive. UEFA noted that his 13 goals during the league phase set a record for that stage, and his total of 15 goals puts him among the top single-season scorers in Champions League history.
