Coventry City have reached an agreement to sign Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest in a permanent transfer.
The two clubs have sorted out the deal, and Awoniyi is now having his medical check-up as part of the transfer process.
This move will bring the skilled forward into Frank Lampard’s Coventry City team as they aim to boost their attacking lineup.
Awoniyi, who has played in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest, is expected to add more firepower for Lampard.
The Nigeria international joined Forest from Union Berlin in 2022. He has been a key player for the club during his time at the City Ground.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared the news on X on Saturday. He said, “Coventry City agree deal to sign Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest, here we go! Club-to-club agreement done, permanent move and also understand medical is now ongoing. New striker for Frank Lampard.”
With the clubs agreeing to the terms and the medical in progress, Awoniyi is getting closer to becoming a Coventry City player.
The deal is expected to be finalised once all the necessary steps are completed.
