Nigerian midfielder Daniel Daga has signed a new contract with Norwegian club Molde. This deal will keep him at the club until the summer of 2031.
The 19-year-old has shown great talent since joining Molde. He will keep growing with the club after agreeing to this long-term deal.
Daga shared his happiness about the new contract. He thanked God and talked about how much Molde means to him.
“First of all, I thank God. I am very happy to have signed a new contract. I really enjoy being at Molde, and the club has earned a big place in my heart.
“We have a fantastic group of players and an exciting future ahead of us. I am proud to continue the journey and fight for this shirt,” Daga said.
The Nigeria youth international said the club's goals and his wish to keep improving were key reasons he chose to stay longer.
“There are many exciting things happening in Molde that I want to be part of. At the same time, I feel this is the right place for me to continue my development.
“I would like to thank the club, the support staff and the supporters. Now I am looking forward to what comes next,” he added.
Daga joined Molde ahead of the 2025 season. He has played 22 official matches so far, scoring five goals and getting one assist.
His recent performances show his growing talent. The midfielder has had several strong games and has been more influential in the middle of the pitch.
Molde sporting director Ole Jakob Strandhagen is happy the club secured Daga’s future.
“Daniel is a young and ambitious player with qualities that already make him important to us. At the same time, we believe he has significant potential for further development.
“He is eager to learn, works extremely purposefully every day and has a strong desire to improve,” Strandhagen said.
The sporting director added that Molde will create a good environment for Daga to keep growing.
“We have great confidence in Daniel’s continued development, and the club will provide the right conditions for him to keep taking new steps forward.
“The fact that we have now agreed a long-term contract shows that both Daniel and the club believe in the sporting partnership and the road ahead. We are very pleased with that,” he added.
Daga has also gained important international experience with Nigeria’s youth teams. He played for Nigeria at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup. During the tournament, he faced his Molde teammate Sondre Granaas.
Now that Daga has secured his long-term future in Norway, he aims to build on his progress. He wants to become an even more important player for Molde in the coming seasons.
For this Nigerian youngster, the new contract is a big sign of trust from Molde and another step in what looks like an exciting career.
