Barcelona captain Raphinha has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2030. The La Liga champions announced this news on Thursday.
Raphinha is a 29-year-old forward from Brazil. He joined Barcelona in 2022 and was originally signed until 2028.
Barca shared a statement saying, "A declaration of intent. Our dear captain will continue to lead our project until 2030."
In September, Raphinha expressed his desire to extend his contract and even mentioned the possibility of finishing his career at Barcelona.
This season, he has been in outstanding form. He has scored 19 goals and made three assists in just 13 matches across all competitions.
Raphinha took over as captain at the beginning of this season. This came after Ronald Araujo and Marc-Andre ter Stegen left the club.
He has also changed his position from the wing to help cover for strikers Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, who have both departed.
Since German Hansi Flick became the coach in 2024, Raphinha has been Barcelona's most dangerous forward. He has helped lead the team to two consecutive La Liga titles.
