Jobe Bellingham has been named in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the first time on Friday. He joins his older brother Jude, while Chelsea’s Cole Palmer misses out.

Fulham’s young player Josh King also gets his first call-up ahead of the Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain later this month.

Tuchel explained that Palmer “misses too many opportunities” to shine on the international stage. He pulled out of England’s last squad due to injury.

The Chelsea player, who was not part of the World Cup team, has been left out as Tuchel wants to explore younger players. England is almost sure to secure a place in the Nations League quarter-finals.

Jobe Bellingham has earned this chance after a strong start to his second season at Borussia Dortmund. Jude also played there for three seasons before moving to Real Madrid.

King has been impressive, even with Fulham struggling in the Premier League. Liverpool’s 18-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha is also part of the squad.

England currently sits second in group A3 after four matches. They have three wins and one loss against Spain at Wembley.

The Three Lions will face Croatia, whom they defeated 7-0 last month, on Thursday. They will then travel to Spain, needing just one point to qualify for the knockout stage in March.

Harry Kane, the newly-crowned Ballon d’Or winner, is about to become England’s most-capped male player. He is set to surpass Peter Shilton after matching the former goalkeeper's record of 125 appearances against the Czech Republic last time out.
