Barcelona captain Raphinha has made it clear that the club is more important than any personal awards.
“I will do my best for the club, not for individual awards. I have always put the interests of the club I play for first,” the Brazilian said in a post by Fabrizio Romano on X on Friday.
Raphinha shared these thoughts while talking about his future after signing a new contract with Barcelona that runs until 2030. He feels proud of this new deal and hopes to finish his career at the club if he stays fit.
This season, Raphinha has been in great form, scoring 15 goals in just 10 La Liga matches.
Even with all the talk about the Ballon d'Or, he stressed that his main focus is on team success.
Raphinha also dismissed any idea of rivalry with teammate Lamine Yamal.
“I want him to have the best statistics and achieve everything with the club. I’d be happy if he won 10 Ballon d’Ors,” Raphinha said.
The forward added that his goal is to win every trophy possible with Barcelona, especially the Champions League.
