Davide Ancelotti is now the head coach of Lille LOSC football club. He officially took the job on June 1, 2026.

Lille announced on Monday that Davide, who is also the assistant coach for Brazil, will lead the team. This comes just a week after Bruno Genesio left the club.

Ancelotti has signed a two-year contract with Lille. However, the club did not confirm if he would leave his position with the Brazil national team before the World Cup. The tournament is set to take place from June 11 to July 19.

The 36-year-old coach is getting another chance to lead a team. He previously spent six months as the head coach of Botafogo in Brazil last year.

“I’m very proud and happy,” Ancelotti said. “It’s an honour to represent Lille.

“They are a serious, ambitious, competitive club who are regularly playing European football,” he added. Ancelotti is excited about this new chapter in his career.

Lille is set to compete in the Champions League next season. They finished third in Ligue 1, 15 points behind league winners Paris Saint-Germain.

The new Ligue 1 season will kick off on the weekend of August 22-23.
