Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known as Davido, has opened up about what worries him the most. He said he fears not knowing when to leave music behind.

In a video interview from 2024 that has recently been shared online, Davido said he is troubled by seeing famous people struggle after losing their spotlight.

He mentioned that if he had the chance, he would create a therapy centre for celebrities and public figures who have faced a drop in fame and influence.

“If there is one thing I could build, I would build a therapy centre for people who were popular and very successful people.

“Because it is crazy to be on top of the world and the next moment you are not,” he said.

Fear of Overstaying

Davido compared his fears to those in professional sports. He pointed out that even top athletes deal with harsh criticism despite their successes.

“Even in soccer, you win the World Cup, Champions League and other trophies and people still don’t think it is enough,” he said.

He gave an example of his friend Ronaldo. Davido said, “After everything he has done for football, they still laughed at him for exiting the World Cup.”

The singer said he often worries about staying too long in the music industry.

“That is my greatest fear. I have worked so hard for me to come and spoil it with something,” he said.

“I pray to God every day to show me the right time to pack it up.”
