Anticipation is high as the second and final phase of the third Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service Volleyball Premier League kicks off on October 15, 2026. The matches will take place at the Indoor Sports Hall, Package B of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

This two-week event will run until October 30. It will decide the championship after a closely contested first phase that wrapped up on June 27.

In the women’s league, Nigeria Customs leads with 34 points. The NSCDC Spikers are just behind with 33 points. On the men’s side, Customs also tops the table with 36 points, while the Spikers sit in second with 29 points.

A big topic of discussion is the effect of players from abroad. A recent clearance allowed over 20 Nigerian athletes playing in Asia, Europe, and North Africa to join local teams. This move has really raised the level of competition. But, some foreign players might miss the final phase, which could lead to changes in tactics and possible surprises.

Organisers praised the CGC management for their strong support. They provided teams with top-quality equipment and boosted morale. The officiating has also received praise for being excellent, with experienced international and senior referees ensuring fair play without any arguments.

As teams prepare for the Abuja matches, it will be important to have consistent performance and strong squad depth. These factors will ultimately determine who walks away with the trophies.
