Nigeria’s U-20 Boys, the Flying Eagles, will play on Thursday to secure a spot in the semi-finals of this year’s WAFU B U-20 Championship. The tournament is happening in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast. They will face off against the Sparrow Hawks from Togo in their second group match.

The Flying Eagles started strong with a fantastic 4-2 win over Ghana on Monday. This victory puts the Cup-holders at the top of Group B based on goal difference, ahead of Burkina Faso’s Young Stallions, who defeated the Sparrow Hawks 3-1 on the same day.

The Flying Eagles are aiming for a win to guarantee their place in the last four, especially before their big match against the Stallions on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Sparrow Hawks will be fighting hard for a good result to keep their chances alive in the tournament after the group stage.

During the match against Ghana, Muiz Adeleke scored twice from the penalty spot. Olayemi Ayinla and Lucky Oraro also found the net. Ghana's captain, Kelvin Nkrumah, scored their penalty and assisted Mohammed Zaidan for their first goal.

Coach Abdu Maikaba knows Thursday's game is crucial. The Cup-holders want to secure a spot at next year’s U20 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Ghana.

A win on Thursday will give Nigeria six points and push Togo back. The Flying Eagles are preparing for a tough match against the Young Stallions on Sunday.
