FutbolConect, a new football tech platform for finding and developing talent in Africa, has launched in Lagos.
The founders want to close the gap between football talent and opportunities across the continent.
This platform connects players, clubs, academies, coaches, scouts, agents, referees, tournament organisers, sponsors, investors and fans through one digital network. The aim is to improve teamwork in the football industry.
At the launch, founder Arinze Madueke said FutbolConect was created to tackle the old problems in African football. He highlighted how hard it is for talented players to get noticed and to connect with clubs and scouts.
He explained that the platform allows football professionals to create digital profiles. They can show off their skills and achievements and interact directly with people and organisations in football.
According to Mr Madueke, the platform also offers digital tools for promoting events, visibility for academies and clubs, recruitment, and forming partnerships to help football grow in Africa.
"We created FutbolConect to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity by using technology to make football more connected, accessible and inclusive for everyone involved in the game," he stated.
He also said the platform is meant to support existing football development systems. This will make it easier for stakeholders to spot talent, build partnerships, and grow their professional networks.
FutbolConect plans to focus on grassroots football, women's football, youth development, and coaching education. This is part of its commitment to strengthening football in Africa.
The launch comes at a time when digital innovation is changing football around the world. Clubs, scouts, and governing bodies are increasingly using technology to find players, analyse their performance, and recruit them.
In Africa, many talented players still find it hard to get noticed outside local competitions. Digital platforms are seen as a way to help these players access more opportunities and connect with the global football scene.
FutbolConect hopes to play a part in this change by providing a digital ecosystem that backs football development and opens new doors for players and other stakeholders across Africa.
