Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved the appointment of Mrs Olubunmi Omotayo Oso as the Secretary of the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

The Ogun State Head of Civil Service, Mr Iskeel Olanrewaju Saka, said this appointment aims to strengthen leadership and improve how basic education is run in the state.

Saka explained that the appointment follows the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board Law, 2005. It also follows the established steps for appointing qualified officers to senior roles in the state public service.

He urged Oso to use her experience and skills to push forward the state’s education policies and help achieve the “Building Our Future Together” plan of the Abiodun government.

Oso was born on 21 November 1972. She started in the Ogun State Civil Service on 11 June 1999 as an Education Officer II.

She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, and a Master’s degree in Education Administration and Planning.

Before this new role, she was the Director of Public Schools in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. She is also a member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).

Saka congratulated Oso on her new position. He asked her to prove that she deserves the trust placed in her by showing hard work, honesty, and dedication to her duties.
