Fenerbahce players Mason Greenwood and Matteo Guendouzi have been suspended after a fight broke out following their club’s Champions League match against Lyon.

Last month, Fenerbahce won 2-1 in France, which helped them advance 3-2 on aggregate. After the final whistle, Greenwood and Guendouzi, who both used to play for Lyon's rivals Marseille, got into a fight with players and staff from both teams.

Guendouzi, a former Arsenal midfielder, has been banned “for a total of four UEFA club competition matches for which he would otherwise be eligible, for insulting others present at the match, provoking spectators and for violating the basic rules of decent conduct,” UEFA announced on Friday evening.

Two of the matches will be under a “one-year probationary period,” UEFA said in its statement.

Guendouzi, who also received a fine of 50,000 euros ($58,000), was found guilty of making an obscene gesture to Lyon fans and provoking a fight after the match.

His English teammate Mason Greenwood, who previously played for Manchester United, received a one-match suspended ban and was fined 30,000 euros for “violating the basic rules of decent conduct.”
