Growtech West Africa, a global agribusiness platform, has teamed up with the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF). This partnership comes just before the first exhibition in Lagos. Both organizations want to improve access to technology, investment, and expertise. Their goal is to enhance productivity and food security in Nigeria’s farming sector.

This partnership links Growtech’s global network of agricultural businesses and tech providers with NADF’s mission. NADF aims to increase access to agricultural finance, improve productivity, and support food security in Nigeria. By supporting the event, NADF hopes to open new opportunities for everyone in the agricultural value chain. This includes engaging with new technologies, expertise, investment, and potential business partnerships.

The Federal Government of Nigeria established NADF under the National Agricultural Development Fund (Establishment) Act 2022. The fund was created to tackle challenges in agricultural finance and unlock the potential of Nigeria’s farming and food systems. NADF also promotes innovation, research, capacity building, and the use of modern farming practices. This is part of its larger role in driving agricultural growth and socio-economic development.

Mohammed A Ibrahim, Executive Secretary/CEO of NADF, said: “Nigeria’s agricultural transformation needs an ecosystem where finance, technology, expertise, and enterprise can work together to create greater value. Events such as Growtech West Africa can connect Nigerian businesses and agricultural enterprises with technologies, knowledge, and international expertise. This can improve productivity, strengthen value chains, and create new economic opportunities. NADF is happy to support the event as part of our commitment to collaboration that expands opportunity and strengthens the agricultural sector.”

This partnership comes at a time when farming businesses in Nigeria are looking for new ways to work better, produce more, and meet changing food demands. From irrigation and mechanization to protected agriculture, livestock, aquaculture, and food processing, technology and investment are increasingly important for developing competitive agricultural value chains.

Growtech West Africa is another step in the international growth of a platform focused on agricultural innovation and industry exchange. It started in Antalya, Türkiye, and has expanded to Dubai, UAE, and Rimini, Italy. Now, Growtech is extending its network to West Africa through Lagos.

Alan Kelly, Commercial & Strategy Director at InD Group, said: “Nigeria is a key market for Growtech because of its size, agricultural diversity, and influence in West Africa. The launch of Growtech West Africa shows our confidence in the market and the opportunities we see in its agricultural value chains. Bringing the Growtech platform to Lagos allows us to connect directly with businesses and professionals seeking technology, expertise, and new commercial ties. We see great potential in West Africa and believe Nigeria can be a major hub for regional and international players, helping to build new relationships and support agriculture’s continued growth in the region.”

Engin Er, Growtech Portfolio Exhibition Director, said: “Growtech’s ongoing expansion into new agricultural markets shows the strong global demand for platforms that connect businesses, technologies, and expertise. West Africa is an important step in this journey due to its rich agricultural sector and rapid changes. Setting up Growtech West Africa in Nigeria allows us to bring international agricultural companies and technologies closer to the local market. This also creates a space for knowledge and business exchange. Our partnership with NADF will help us reach key players in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.”

Nigeria’s large size, agricultural variety, and strategic position in West Africa make it vital for agricultural technology development. The country has a big local market and a wide network of businesses involved in production, processing, distribution, and related services. This opens opportunities to strengthen local value chains while linking Nigerian businesses with international solutions and expertise.

For Growtech, launching in Nigeria is a chance to tap into the country’s agricultural potential and connect with businesses and professionals in the sector.

The first Growtech West Africa will take place from 26, 28 January 2027 at the Landmark Centre in Lagos. It will bring together companies and professionals from areas like seeds and seedlings, plant nutrition and protection, irrigation, greenhouse technologies, agricultural machinery, livestock, aquaculture, food processing, and related agricultural technologies.

The event will also include the Food Security and Sustainability Conference. This conference will gather policymakers, investors, agribusiness leaders, researchers, and tech providers. They will discuss important issues shaping the future of agriculture, such as financing, productivity, technology use, climate resilience, and food production.

By connecting Nigerian agricultural players with international businesses, technologies, and expertise, Growtech West Africa aims to promote knowledge sharing, business collaboration, and access to solutions that can boost the growth and resilience of Nigeria’s farming sector. Opportunities for exhibitors, sponsors, strategic partners, and industry players to participate remain open as they engage with Nigeria and West Africa's agriculture market.
