Haaland's Record Price in Fantasy Premier League and New Features

Erling Haaland now has a record price of £15.5m as Fantasy Premier League announced some big changes and new features for the 2026/27 season.

Haaland's price is the highest ever in Fantasy Premier League history. Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes has also seen a significant price jump, increasing by £3m to £12m.

Arsenal's defender Gabriel will cost £8m, making him only the third defender to reach that price.

According to the official Fantasy Premier League website on Wednesday, one major change for the new season is live updates for mini-league standings.

"For those who keep a close eye on their world ranking, your position in the global standings, and in all other leagues, will be continuously updated during matches," the announcement said.

This update will also apply to head-to-head contests between managers and FPL Cup matches.

Players’ scores will now have projected bonus points added after 20 minutes of each match. These points will continue to change throughout the game as the Bonus Points System develops.

Another big addition is the Price Change Predictor. This tool will track official FPL data and transfer activity to show which players are likely to rise or fall in price each day.

"The data will always be a guide and doesn’t guarantee a price change," the Premier League said. They added that managers checking the predictor regularly could "stay ahead of the curve and steal a march on your mini-league rivals."

Managers will also find new ways to view their squads on the "Pick Team", "Points" and "Transfers" pages. This includes information like fixture difficulty ratings, player ownership, and upcoming opponents all at a glance.

Form and the chance of a player’s price changing will be added once the season starts.

The new season will also let managers compare their career history with other FPL players worldwide. They can see their average performance across all seasons and their ranking percentile.

The Bonus Points System has been adjusted to reduce overlap with defensive contribution points. This change aims to boost the bonus-point chances for goalkeepers, full-backs, and attacking players.

The Gameweek lockdown will now happen later, at 09:00 UK time the day after the final match of the Gameweek. This is instead of one hour after the final whistle.

According to the Premier League, this extension will give more time for post-match Opta review data to show in the Bonus Points System. This should help improve the accuracy of final Gameweek scores.

But the chip system will stay the same. Managers will get two sets of Wildcard, Free Hit, Triple Captain, and Bench Boost chips during the season.

The first set must be used before the Gameweek 19 deadline at 13:30 GMT on Saturday, January 2, 2027, and cannot roll into the second half of the season.

Managers will also keep the ability to roll over up to five free transfers.

However, the extra free transfers that were introduced last season for the Africa Cup of Nations will not be available because the tournament will not happen during the 2026/27 season.

Defensive contribution points will remain after being added at the start of the previous season.

Other features include some players being reclassified and Adobe Express Gameweek Recaps. These recaps will give managers personal visual summaries of their performances once each Gameweek ends.

The 2026/27 Fantasy Premier League season will combine familiar features with real-time league data, better player information, and new tools to help managers understand their decisions better.

G. Later Gameweek lockdown: Final Gameweek scores will now be locked at 09:00 UK time the following day instead of one hour after the final match.
