How I Started My Show ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’, Isbae U

Content creator Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, known as Isbae U, has shared how he launched his popular interview series, Curiosity Made Me Ask. He wanted to do something different from just making skits.

Isbae U talked about this during an interview with Morayo Afolabi-Brown on The Morayo Show. The episode was shared on YouTube on Wednesday.

He mentioned that he tried different entertainment styles like acting, singing, and rapping while searching for his niche.

He realized he did not want to stay as part of the skit makers. He started looking for a unique concept that would make him stand out.

"I was just finding myself. I was at that process. Before that, I was singing, before that rapping. I was just finding myself," he said.

He explained how Curiosity Made Me Ask was born. He wanted to move away from being average and create something unique.

"There was a day I said to someone that I was done being mediocre, being average. I wanted to do something different. I didn’t want to just be considered part of them, part of the skit makers, one of them," he said.

He found inspiration from American comedian Zach Galifianakis’ show, Between Two Ferns.

"I saw a show that I used to watch a long time ago. It’s called Between Two Ferns by Zach Galifianakis. So when I saw the show, I loved it. I thought, ‘Oh, this is something I can do.’ Even though the guy didn’t even do it as much as I’m doing it now," he said.

Since then, Isbae U has interviewed many prominent figures. This includes former President Olusegun Obasanjo, actor Peter Edochie, and entertainer Charly Boy.

He explained that the goal of his interviews is not just to ask celebrities standard questions but to show a different side of them.

"The idea of Curiosity Made Me Ask is to show you another part of this celebrity you’ve not seen," he said.

Isbae U admitted he often feels nervous before interviewing older and more established personalities. But they usually welcome him and encourage him to be himself.

His recent interview with Obasanjo caught a lot of attention online. The former President is one of the latest high-profile guests on the show.

"Every time. Especially when it comes to people that are way older than me," he said when asked if he ever feels nervous before such interviews.

Isbae U also plans to explore other content forms. He mentioned that he has been writing stories for other creators behind the scenes.

"A lot of people thought or think I have stopped creating and just doing Curiosity Made Me Ask. But low-key, there are people I write stories for, people I help with their stories," he said.

He concluded that he plans to create more content in the future.
