Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has joined Juventus from Tottenham Hotspur on a one-year loan deal. The two clubs announced this move on Tuesday. There is an option for Juventus to make the deal permanent after the loan period.
Vicario, who is 29 years old, is set to take over as the main goalkeeper from Michele Di Gregorio. Juventus will compete in Serie A and play in the Europa League this season after missing out on the Champions League.
Juventus welcomed him with a statement, saying, "Thereβs another new Bianconero in Turin. Welcome to Juventus, Guglielmo!"
At Tottenham, Vicario lost his spot as the first-choice goalkeeper to Antonin Kinsky. This happened towards the end of last season when Roberto De Zerbi was managing the team. Tottenham barely avoided relegation from the Premier League.
Vicario joined Spurs in 2023 from Empoli. Before that, he played for Udinese, Venezia, Perugia, and Cagliari.
During his time at Tottenham, he made 117 appearances. He kept 29 clean sheets and was key in helping the club win the Europa League in 2025.
