The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, has urged political appointees to serve the government honestly and without fear. She reminded them that taking the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office is important, as stated in the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution.
Balarabe shared this message after swearing in three Commissioners, the Deputy Chief of Staff Administration, and Counselor of Infrastructure, along with 18 Special Advisers on Thursday.
According to her, the oaths are not just words. They bind the appointees before God and the people of Kaduna State to serve faithfully.
She explained that taking the oath is a moment of trust and a call to service. Leadership is not a privilege but a responsibility that requires humility, integrity, courage, and a strong commitment to the people.
‘’Your appointments show the confidence His Excellency has in your abilities, experience, and judgment,’’ she said.
Balarabe encouraged the appointees to see this confidence not just as recognition of past achievements but as a challenge to achieve even more for the people.
Addressing the timing of the appointments during an election season, she stated that ‘’elections have their calendar, but the needs of our people do not wait for it.’’
She emphasized that Governor Uba Sani is focused on fulfilling his promises to the people of Kaduna State, regardless of political party or ethnic background.
The governor aims to create a peaceful and prosperous Kaduna State where no community is left out, she added.
‘’Since May 2023, Kaduna State has made steady progress. Communities that were once divided by conflict are reconciling through the Kaduna Peace Model; farmlands are reopening and markets are bustling again.
‘’More than 500 schools that were closed due to insecurity have reopened, and over 300,000 out-of-school children returned to class in 2025 alone,’’ she said.
Balarabe also mentioned that hundreds of classrooms have been built and many renovated, and tens of thousands of teachers have received training.
In healthcare, she said that 255 primary healthcare centres have been upgraded, adding that ‘’our general hospitals are also being improved.’’
She noted that about 160 road projects, covering 1,335 kilometres, are opening up all 23 local government areas. The light rail and bus rapid transit projects are paving the way for the future of Kaduna.
Balarabe urged the newly sworn-in appointees to go to their assigned posts and serve as the link between the government and the people.
‘’Let your work speak for you and convince those who doubt. Show that you deserve the trust given to you,’’ she said.
The three new commissioners are Hon Benjamin Dalhat Solomon Kure (Sports Development), Hon Amina Akilu Dalhat (Special Duties I), and Abdullahi Garba Abbas (Special Duties II), along with the 18 special advisers.
At the same event, Dr Haliru Musa Soba and Balarabe Muhammad Bello were sworn in as Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration) and Counselor of Infrastructure, respectively.
