Kano Pillars have announced RAFA Detergent as their new official front jersey sponsor. The brand will appear on the club’s home and away shirts for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The club shared this news on Sunday. They aim to boost their commercial outlook and strengthen ties with private businesses.

“A new chapter begins! A partnership built on shared values, ambition and a commitment to excellence. KANO PILLARS FC x RAFA DETERGENT. SAI MASU GIDA!” the club posted on its official X handle.

The agreement was signed by Alhaji Kabiru Rabiu, Chairman of Rafa Corporation and Group Executive Director of BUA Group. Alhaji Ahmed Musbahu Garo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kano Pillars Football Club, also signed.

During the unveiling, Rabiu said the sponsorship is a natural fit between a Nigerian manufacturing company and a football club that means a lot to many. “We are very excited to form this partnership with Kano Pillars,” he stated.

He explained that the club’s large fan base, its role in Kano’s identity, and its contributions to Nigerian football made it a great partner for Rafa. Supporting Pillars is a lifelong passion for many people from Kano.

Rabiu also mentioned that football unites young people, promoting discipline, friendship, and shared goals. Rafa’s support will go beyond just visibility. They want to help the club grow and reach more fans across Nigeria and beyond.

RAFA takes over from Radio France International (RFI) Hausa, who were the front-of-shirt sponsors last season in a deal worth N100 million. The new deal will see the detergent brand’s logo prominently displayed on the club’s jerseys during the new NPFL season.

This agreement is part of Pillars’ strategy to attract private investment. General Manager and former Nigeria international Ahmed Musa hopes to lessen the club’s reliance on government funds through such partnerships.

RAFA is the latest detergent brand to feature on Kano Pillars shirts. Previously, Aspira Nigeria’s Viva Detergent sponsored the club during the 2020/21 season.

Images released after the announcement showed what the new kits might look like. Fabian Nworie, Ibrahim Sani Halliru, Frank Onyebuchi, and Shola Abdulraheem modeled the home, away, alternate, and goalkeeper jerseys.

The new branding comes just before Pillars’ rescheduled NPFL Matchday Three match against Shooting Stars. The game is set for Wednesday at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, at 4 PM. Sai Masu Gida will wear the new partnership logo as they continue their league campaign.
