New Kano Pillars Technical Adviser Daniel Ogunmodede has quickly set the stage for a new chapter at the former Nigeria Premier Football League champions. He stated that winning every competition will be the main goal of his ambitious plan at the club.

Known as IJABALL, the Super Eagles assistant coach shared a detailed plan for the Sai Masu Gida during his official unveiling at the Kano Pillars Secretariat on Saturday. He promised not only immediate success on the pitch but also a strong football structure that can produce future stars.

Speaking to journalists, Ogunmodede emphasized that the club’s renewed ambition goes beyond just playing attractive football.

"We are not just going to play football; we want to win. No doubt about it. We can’t win all games, but we will win every game as it comes," he said.

The former Remo Stars boss also shared his long-term vision, which includes establishing a top-notch youth development system that will be one of the best in the country.

"Secondly, the goal is to organise and structure a world-standard academy, ranging from Under-12 to Under-19. Thereby, we will create and maintain a solid identity that will be recognisable in the country and around the world," he added.

Ogunmodede firmly stated that success is non-negotiable. He revealed that Kano Pillars will enter every competition with the mindset of real title contenders.

"And lastly, like I said, to win. Winning is not negotiable in this project. We want to win. I can promise you we are going to contest the Federation Cup, the league, the CAF Confederation Cup, and the Champions League. We are going to compete in all competitions. In doing this, our communication skills must be strong," he explained.

The 46-year-old coach also promised to create an open and collaborative environment. He highlighted that every stakeholder with ideas to improve the club will have a chance to speak up.

"No one is an island of knowledge. I’m not unapproachable. I love to be advised. I love to be talked to. I hate autocracy. I love deliberations. If you have an idea that can help Kano Pillars, and if you can’t talk to the Chairman, you can talk to me," he said.

Kano Pillars have given Ogunmodede the responsibility of bringing one of Nigeria’s most successful clubs back to the top of domestic football after some tough seasons.

The Sai Masu Gida last won the NPFL title in 2014, adding to their impressive history with championships in the 2007/08, 2012, and 2013 seasons.

His appointment marks a new beginning for the Kano-based club. Known for building strong teams and achieving lasting success, the club’s management hopes Ogunmodede can bring Kano Pillars back into the mix for domestic trophies while also laying the groundwork for future success on and off the pitch.
