Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has asked anyone hurt by his administration’s choices to forgive him. He also called for unity among All Progressives Congress (APC) members as the 2027 general elections approach.
Mr Radda made this request on Saturday in Katsina. He was inaugurating the APC campaign council for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and himself.
“I have no grudge against anybody in the party, and I welcome everyone who wants to join the party,” he said.
The governor urged party members to come together, mobilize voters, and increase grassroots campaigns to ensure victory for APC candidates.
He warned members against depending on the party’s popularity without active campaigning for votes. “The time to get into any seat of power by awuf has gone. Come out and campaign massively for votes,” he said.
Mr Radda emphasized the need for APC members to work together for Tinubu and all party candidates, from polling units and wards to local, state, and federal levels.
He described every party member as an ambassador of Mr Tinubu and other APC candidates, urging them to show commitment to the party’s shared goals.
The governor expressed confidence in APC’s chances in Katsina and nationwide. He encouraged members to stay focused on winning.
He thanked the people for their support and patience with his administration over the past three and a half years.
Mr Radda said his administration has made significant infrastructure improvements across the state’s 34 local government areas.
He also mentioned that the government has consistently paid monthly allowances to APC officials at the state, local government, and ward levels.
According to him, these payments have helped keep the party’s structure intact.
Earlier, APC State Chairman Bishir Gambo-Saulawa praised Mr Radda for strengthening the party. He also highlighted the construction of the party’s new state secretariat, where the inauguration happened.
Mr Gambo-Saulawa described the secretariat as a unique facility.
He added that the party’s candidates in the state have been certified by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He recognized former APC state chairman Sani Ali for his role in the secretariat's project.
During the inauguration, Mr Radda named Mr Gambo-Saulawa as the deputy chairman of the campaign council.
Ahmed Dangiwa, an architect, was appointed Director-General, while Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji became Secretary-General. Alhaji Sani Aliyu was chosen as the council’s organizing secretary.
The Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, also praised Mr Radda for the infrastructure development in the state. Ms Musawa said Mr Tinubu has asked her to work closely with the governor to advance the development of Katsina State.
