Nigeria’s Kenneth Boniface has been named the Most Valuable Player of the 2028 ICC Men’s U-19 T20 World Cup Division 2 qualifiers in Rwanda. His all-round performance was impressive.
Boniface scored 251 runs in five innings and took 10 wickets. He stood out as the best player in the tournament. He had a batting strike rate of 109.61 and an economy rate of 4.04 with the ball.
He played a key role in his team’s success. In their first match, he scored a fantastic 97 off 107 balls. He also hit his first century of the tournament in Nigeria’s last game against Sierra Leone.
Boniface scored 100 runs off just 74 balls against Sierra Leone. He hit 10 fours and three sixes, making him one of Nigeria’s top players in the competition.
Uganda’s Robert Owilli was named Best Batter. He scored 234 runs in five innings with a strike rate of 80.14.
Ghana’s Stanley Carson was awarded Best Bowler. He took 15 wickets in five innings with an economy rate of 3.78.
Uganda, Nigeria, and host Rwanda moved on to the Division 1 qualifiers. They will join Kenya, Namibia, and Tanzania in the next round of the 2028 ICC Men’s U-19 T20 World Cup qualifying process next year.
