Knorr Celebrates Food and Culture with Abia Women at the 2026 August Meeting

Every festival has its own taste. Sometimes, it comes from the meals cooked for loved ones. It can also be in recipes passed down through generations or the joy of eating together with family and friends. At the annual August Meeting, that taste is closely tied to culture, community, and the women who keep these traditions alive.

This spirit came alive on Friday, 28 August when Knorr joined women from Nigeria and beyond at the New Government House in Umuahia, Abia State. This was for the grand finale of the state’s 2026 August Meeting celebrations. The event, organized by the Office of the Wife of the Governor of Abia State and the Ministry of Women Affairs, had the theme “Abia Women: Empowered to Thrive.” It brought women together to celebrate their heritage, strengthen bonds, and support the state’s growth.

For Knorr, Nigeria’s top seasoning brand, this gathering was a great chance to celebrate what makes cultural events memorable: food and the flavors that unite people.

In Igbo communities, food is key to connection. From dishes prepared for returning family members to traditional recipes shared from mothers to daughters, food tells stories of a people's roots and values. This was the spirit Knorr brought to the August Meeting, adding its flavor to an event that united women and families.

The August Meeting featured many activities aimed at empowering women. These included business grants for female entrepreneurs, raffle draws with prizes, march-past exhibitions, networking, and goodie bags that added excitement to the day.

Knorr took part by sharing food packs made with its tasty seasoning. With this gesture, the brand celebrated the women who give these gatherings their unique flavor.
