Lagos APC Brings Tinubu, Hamzat's 2027 Campaign to Nigerians in Chicago

The Lagos State All Progressives Congress campaign team for President Bola Tinubu and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has kicked off its 2027 campaign in Chicago, United States.

This outreach happened after the launch of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Diaspora, Chicago chapter. Ayodele Tinubu, who is the Publicity Secretary of the diaspora campaign committee for PBAT-KOH, shared this in a statement.

The statement, which was sent to PUNCH Online on Sunday, mentioned that Gbolahan Gbadamosi, the Director of the Lagos State APC PBAT-KOH Special Duties Committee: Diaspora, led the campaign message at the event. The gathering included members of the Nigerian community living abroad and APC supporters.

Also at the event was Tunde Doherty, the Chairman of the APC United Kingdom, along with other members of the Nigerian community and party supporters.

Gbadamosi spoke to those present, urging Nigerians in the diaspora to connect with their families, communities, and networks in Nigeria. He encouraged them to discuss government policies and programs and to promote what he called informed participation in the 2027 elections.

He highlighted that the Tinubu government has "undertaken reforms and interventions in areas including the economy, education and infrastructure." He added that they are working to "strengthen national security and create a foundation for sustainable development."

Gbadamosi also stressed the need for “continuity of the administration’s reforms,” saying this is necessary to meet its development goals.

Regarding Lagos State, he called for ongoing progress in the state's development journey. He described Hamzat as a politician with deep knowledge of Lagos and its governance, saying his experience would help advance the state's agenda.

"Lagos cannot afford experimentation when there is a need to consolidate the gains of development.

“With Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, a man who understands Lagos and its people, the Forward Lagos Agenda can build on existing foundations and pursue further development,” he noted.

Gbadamosi also urged diaspora members to enhance collaboration, share information, and engage grassroots support as the 2027 elections approach.

Doherty also spoke, showing confidence in the APC’s candidates. He encouraged Nigerians to stay involved in the democratic process.

He called for ongoing communication about the party’s policies and vision to Nigerians both at home and abroad. He also asked for support for Tinubu, Hamzat, and other APC candidates in the upcoming elections.

The statement mentioned that the Chicago event was part of the larger diaspora mobilization efforts of the Lagos State APC PBAT-KOH Campaign Council, Special Duties Committee: Diaspora.

It also provided a chance for diaspora members to build their networks and discuss the role of Nigerians living abroad in Nigeria’s political and development issues.
