Content creator and streamer Carter Efe will fight rapper and social media star Speed Darlington in a boxing match on 1 October at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
The fight is called “Chaos in the Ring,” and Balmoral Promotions made the official announcement on Sunday. It will happen on Nigeria’s Independence Day and will stream live on DAZN.
The promoters shared the news on Instagram, saying: “IT’S OFFICIAL! CARTER VS SPEED. Two African stars. One ring. No excuses. On October 1, the ring decides who stands tall. Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos. Live on @daznboxing. This isn’t just a fight. It is CHAOS!”
This boxing match will be the first time Efe and Speed Darlington face each other, but both have been part of Nigeria’s growing celebrity boxing scene before.
Meet Carter Efe
Efe comes into this match as a top name in the celebrity boxing world after beating singer Habeeb “Portable” Badmus by unanimous decision in May.
He won that fight at Chaos in the Ring 4, which also took place at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Efe showed a strong performance during the three-round fight. He used movement, uppercuts, body shots, and good combinations to handle Portable’s aggressive style.
All three judges scored the match in Efe’s favour, giving him a 30-27 win on their scorecards.
Businessman Emeka “E-Money” Okonkwo later paid a ₦50 million promise to Efe after his win.
Efe’s victory ended Portable’s unbeaten streak in celebrity boxing, as Portable had previously defeated actor Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington.
Speed Darlington’s Comeback
Speed Darlington hopes to turn his luck around when he faces Efe.
He had fought Portable in a celebrity boxing match in 2025, where Portable won by technical knockout after Darlington could not continue into the second round.
This fight came after a public argument between the two stars. Darlington had offered Portable ₦500,000 to perform at an event, but Portable turned it down, leading to a heated exchange.
Their argument eventually led to a boxing match, where Portable dominated the first round before Darlington had to stop.
Darlington later said he lost due to supernatural forces, claiming “juju” or charms played a part.
The Challenge
Darlington’s fight against Efe comes after he challenged Efe following Efe’s win over Portable.
After Efe’s victory in May, Darlington made fun of Portable and pointed out his earlier fight against him.
He then called out Efe for a match, saying he would be a tougher challenge than Portable and showed confidence he could beat the content creator.
That challenge is now set to happen, as Efe and Darlington are ready to settle their rivalry in the ring.

This fight is the latest big event in Nigeria’s popular celebrity boxing scene, where personal rivalries, social media fights, and entertainment play big roles in promotion.
Balmoral Promotions has held several events in the Chaos in the Ring series, mixing celebrity boxing with professional matches.
The contest on 1 October will be at the Federal Palace Hotel, Balmoral Convention Centre/Hall, Victoria Island, Lagos.
But the promoters have not yet shared full details about the undercard, weight classes, number of rounds, payment arrangements, or the exact start time.
