Street-pop singer Portable is set to face actor and internet star Charles Okocha in a boxing rematch on July 31. The fight will take place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.

This match is called “Unfinished Business.” It comes just weeks after Portable lost his celebrity boxing title to comedian Carter Efe.

Balmoral Promotions shared this news in a recent post, saying the fight will happen alongside the Agbaje and Musa boxing match.

“Africa, the stage is set. Now, we settle the score. Portable. Charles Okocha. Agbaje. Musa. Four fighters. One ring. No more talk,” the post said.

PUNCH Online reported that Carter Efe gave Portable his first loss in celebrity boxing. This happened after Efe outperformed Portable in three rounds at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

All three judges scored the fight 30-27 in favor of Carter Efe. This result ended Portable’s unbeaten streak in celebrity boxing.

Before this loss, Portable had gained fame in the sport by defeating Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington in earlier matches. He earned two celebrity boxing belts along the way.

The upcoming rematch brings back a rivalry that started in 2023. Portable accused Okocha of cheating him in a business deal involving about ₦40m. This claim led to a public argument between them, which ended in a boxing match.

In their first fight at Landmark Beach, Victoria Island, Lagos, Portable won after four rounds, in a match that lasted about 40 minutes.

Portable started off strong, using aggressive jabs in the first round. Okocha responded in the second round, landing several punches that put Portable under pressure.

By the fourth round, both fighters seemed tired and did not want to continue into a fifth round. Portable was declared the winner and received the championship belt.

After the fight, Okocha questioned the result and asked for a rematch, claiming the fight was not fairly judged.

The July 31 match gives the Nollywood actor a chance to settle the score. Portable will be aiming to recover after losing his celebrity boxing title to Carter Efe.
