APC Opens New Campaign Office in Lagos for 2027 Elections

The Director-General of the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Governorship Campaign Organisation, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, has said the new PBAT-KOH Lagos Central Campaign Headquarters will boost political coordination and grassroots involvement as the 2027 general elections approach.

Obanikoro spoke to reporters at Lagos Island on Tuesday. He said the headquarters will act as a main hub for organizing campaign activities, connecting with stakeholders, and rallying party members and supporters in the Lagos Central Senatorial District.

The office is at 2 Joseph Harden Street, opposite Eleganza Building, off Broad Street, Lagos Island. It is set up to coordinate political activities across the five local government areas in the district: Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, Surulere, Apapa, and Eti-Osa.

The facility will offer space for campaign planning, strategic meetings, stakeholder engagement, and other activities aimed at boosting coordination among political leaders and grassroots supporters.

It has 16 offices, including one for the governorship candidate. There is also a 500-seat auditorium and two conference rooms that can hold 40 and 15 people, respectively.

Mr Bolaji Yusuf, the centre’s administrator and coordinator, shared that the facility includes a clinic and an outdoor event area that can seat 150 people.

Engr. Tayo Bamgbose-Martins mainly financed the project, while Yusuf will handle the administration and coordination of the site.

Obanikoro talked about the importance of the headquarters. He said it shows the need for a well-organized setup for political engagement and mobilization in the senatorial district.

"Beyond the commissioning ceremony, our priority is to ensure that this headquarters becomes a functional center for coordination, engagement, and grassroots mobilization.

"We want a structure that brings party leaders, community representatives, youth groups, women, and other stakeholders together to talk about issues affecting their communities and boost participation in the democratic process," he stated.

The director-general mentioned that ongoing engagement with residents is key to understanding their worries and sharing the campaign’s plans and goals.

He added that the facility will encourage teamwork among party members and campaign organizers, helping to coordinate activities in the five local government areas.

The headquarters supports President Bola Tinubu and Hamzat, the All Progressives Congress candidate for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.

This office opening comes as political parties and support groups start to strengthen their structures for the 2027 general elections.

In Lagos, campaign coordination across the senatorial districts will likely involve party leaders, community stakeholders, political appointees, and supporters working through local government and ward-level structures.

The new headquarters aims to provide a base for these activities in Lagos Central. Its success will depend on how well it promotes coordination, community involvement, and communication among the campaign’s various stakeholders.
