The Lagos State Government has caught 45 beggars, which include both adults and children, during various operations in Oshodi, Agege, and CMS areas of the state.

The Commissioner for the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, shared this news in a statement on his X handle on Wednesday.

He explained that 22 beggars were caught in Oshodi and Agege. This group includes adults and some teenagers.

Wahab added that 14 adults and nine children were also caught at CMS during the operations.

“Earlier today, in a separate enforcement operation, our team caught 22 beggars at Oshodi and Agege, which include adults and a few teenagers.

“Additionally, 14 adults and 9 children were caught at CMS,” Wahab said.

Wahab also mentioned that clearance operations are still happening in other parts of the state. This includes places like Admiralty Way in Lekki and Addo Road in Ajah.
