Lagos to Host Exciting Boxing Show

Lagos is set to host the Beyond the Ropes boxing show on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Oluwatosin Adeshina, known as Destiny Boy, will fight Taofeek Ganiyu, also called Africa Lion Tearboxer, in the main match.

The event will happen at Araromi Stadium in Gbagada, along Bariga Road. It is officially approved by the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control. Popular musician 9ice will perform at the event, which is supported by Hon. Morufu Idowu Alli-Balogun.

There is a lot of excitement ahead of the fight. Destiny Boy was in Ibadan last weekend. He held a street show at Ashi Junction rail line to connect with his fans.

The former Ibadan boxer, now managed by Firo Boxing Promotions, entertained a large crowd with shadowboxing and pad work. This gave fans a sneak peek into his training routine.

Destiny Boy believes his time has come. Meanwhile, Africa Lion Tearboxer promises to defeat him in the ring. For Destiny Boy, this match is a chance to prove his rising status. For his opponent, it’s a chance to stop him and show he is in charge.

Tijani Taofeek Adedamola, CEO of Firo Boxing Promotions, spoke to journalists about the road shows for boxers on the fight card. He said these shows help strengthen ties with local communities and fans.

Adedamola mentioned that these events allow fighters to meet their supporters directly. This builds a deeper connection in the communities that support them.

"Boxing has become a way for young Nigerian boxers to earn a living. That's why at Firo Entertainment, we support them. We want to create a platform for them to achieve their dreams and show their skills," Adedamola said.

The promotion believes this initiative shows its commitment to developing boxing at the grassroots level. It aims to create visibility for new talents and present boxing as a real career option for young Nigerians.
