Lagos is getting ready for one of its biggest electronic dance music events this year. Roadblock 2026 is set to take place on Saturday, December 19, 2026. The organisers say this year's edition will have the largest and most exciting production ever.
In a statement shared with Saturday Beats, the organisers called Roadblock “Africa’s definitive Afro-Electronic Dance Music event.” They also said this year’s theme will be “Vibe Lagos. Vibe The World.”
The organisers expect more than 6,000 partygoers to attend. The event will have the usual all-white or all-black dress code. Lagos will transform into what they call “the biggest club on earth.”
For the 2026 edition, there will be a new stage concept. This includes a 36-foot illuminated “Broken Earth” stage and a hydraulic DJ platform that can lift performers 30 feet into the air. They are calling this special moment “Ascension.”
Attendees will see amazing lighting, visual effects, and immersive performers. The event will also feature the well-known confetti displays that Roadblock is famous for.
Roadblock announced that internationally acclaimed Afro-electronic DJ, Heaven Sam, will headline this year’s edition. Other performers include global DJ Ms. DSF and Nigerian DJ, Dope Caesar. More local and international artists will be announced in the coming months.
Dr Felix King Eiremiokhae, the Chief Architect of Roadblock, shared the vision behind the festival. He said the event is more than just entertainment. “Roadblock is more than just a party. It’s an experience built on feeling, energy and human connection. It’s about bringing thousands of people together through music, movement and shared emotion,” he said.
The organisers explained that the event, produced by Oracle Experience and powered by Desperados beer, aims to make Roadblock one of Africa’s top live entertainment experiences.
