LASTMA recognises three officers for their hard work

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has honoured three of its officers for their great work and dedication to the public.

Adebayo Taofiq, who is the Director of the Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, shared this news in a statement on Wednesday.

The officers honoured are Ajayi Bembe Babatunde, Zonal Head of Zone B; Adebanjo Alade, Comptroller of Apapa; and Age Luqman, Zonal Head of Bariga/Iyana-Oworo. They received the “Award of Outstanding Exemplary Performance.”

Taofiq mentioned that these officers were recognised for their hard work, professionalism, and commitment to their roles in the authority.

He said the award was meant to honour public officers whose hard work, integrity, and dedication help achieve the goals of the agency and serve the public.

During the award presentation, LASTMA's General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, thanked City Herald Magazine for acknowledging the efforts of the authority's staff.

Bakare-Oki said this recognition shows the hard work of LASTMA staff who face tough conditions daily to manage traffic, ensure road safety, and improve driving in Lagos.

He said, "Such recognition is a big confirmation of the hard work of LASTMA staff who work every day under tough conditions to manage traffic, ensure road safety, and improve the driving experience across Lagos."

The general manager noted that recognising individual excellence would boost the authority’s focus on professionalism, accountability, discipline, and public service.

He added that the three honourees had set themselves apart through their hard work and commitment. He stressed that excellence in public service is not just about taking responsibility but also about the quality, integrity, and impact of the work done.

Bakare-Oki expressed hope that this recognition would inspire other officers to commit themselves to selfless service, strong professionalism, and dedication to the public good.
