Liverpool has secured the signing of Spain forward Victor Munoz from Osasuna for a fee of £34.5 million ($45.5 million).
Munoz is currently at the World Cup but has finished his medical at Spain’s camp in Tennessee. He has signed a six-year contract with the Premier League side.
The 22-year-old is the first signing for Reds manager Andoni Iraola since he took over from the dismissed Arne Slot.
“Liverpool FC have agreed a deal to sign Victor Munoz from Osasuna, subject to a successful work permit application and international clearance,” the club announced on their website.
Newcastle was in serious talks to sign Munoz after selling Anthony Gordon to Barcelona. Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen were also interested in him.
But Liverpool won him over. Munoz, who scored seven goals and made five assists in 36 games last season, opted for Anfield after they activated the release clause in his contract.
Munoz grew up in Barcelona’s La Masia youth academy. He later moved to Real Madrid, where he played just two matches, before joining Osasuna in July 2025.
He can play on both wings and will help Iraola replace the big gap left by Mohamed Salah’s departure this summer.
Munoz has two caps for Spain, making his debut in March. He will join his new teammates later this summer after the World Cup ends.
