Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga has shared why they signed Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika. They see him as a key part of their future plans.
Frankfurt signed the Super Eagles midfielder from Belgian champions Club Brugge. The 25-year-old signed a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2031.
After the transfer was made public on the club's X account on Sunday, Eintracht Frankfurt's sporting director Markus Krösche spoke about Onyedika. He said the player's skills make him a great fit for the Bundesliga team.
"Raphael Onyedika impresses us not only with his robustness and strategic understanding of the game, but above all with his exceptional consistency. He has been a regular starter for several years and has celebrated numerous titles in Belgium," Krösche said on the club's official website.
Krösche also mentioned Onyedika’s experience and his chances of growing even more.
"Furthermore, he possesses valuable international experience. At 25 years old, he still has great potential for development and is also an important building block for the structure of our squad," he added.
Onyedika comes to Germany after a successful time with Club Brugge. He won two Belgian league titles, the Belgian Cup, and the Belgian Super Cup. Before his time in Belgium, he also won the Danish Cup with FC Midtjylland.
This move is a big step in the Nigerian international’s career as he gets ready for his first season in the Bundesliga.
